Get the most for your money holiday

Filed under: saving tips — Matthew @ 11:58 am

It still amazes me how many people rush down the highstreet to an old style travel agent to book their summer holidays, I almost feel guilty for not stopping them in their tracks and pointing out how much cheaper it can be online! While you may be attracted by those cheap deals in the window, you’ll know from experience that it never really seems to work out that cheap does it! Online you can use a comparison website which will do all the hard work of looking around to find you the best deal and save you money. Remember to take your card with you, if you don’t have a card already then you can get a quick comparison from Fools credit cards page which will save you effort!

Another thing is, the dollar is weak! You may not have been able to afford to goto America before but if there was ever a time then now is that time! With the British getting 2 dollars for each pound you can’t complain and your money will go much further than it ever has. If you haven’t been to America but have always dreamed about it then you should sit down and consider the prospect.

Saving money on medicines

Filed under: saving tips — Matthew @ 5:33 pm

It’s easy to forget your money saving sense when you’re feeling unwell but it’s important to remember that a savers battle is never over. Many times you may find that the ingredients inside the more expensive medicines is near identical to lesser known brands who sell their products for a much lower price.

Another thing to remember is that if you’re over 60, in full time education or on income support then you should be able to get your prescription drugs for free which could save you a pretty penny.

So the point I’m trying to get is that you should look at what you’re getting for your money and make sure you’re not just throwing away cash for a brand.
